Bishop’s Prayer Intensions for October 2026
For this month, Most Rev. Augustine Tochukwu Ukwuoma, Bishop of Orlu, calls on the Church in Orlu to turn in prayer toward our civil leaders and civil servants, entrusting to God all those entrusted with the responsibility of governance and public service.
We are invited to pray for those who hold positions of authority in our nation, states, and local communities, as well as those who serve in various public institutions and government establishments. May God grant them the wisdom to make sound decisions, the courage to uphold justice, and the humility to govern and serve with integrity, fairness, and a genuine concern for the common good. May they resist the temptations of corruption, selfish ambition, abuse of power, and indifference to the plight of the people, choosing instead the path of honesty, accountability, and selfless service.
Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, may our civil leaders and public servants become instruments of peace, justice, development, and human dignity. May those entrusted with authority recognise their positions not as privileges for personal gain, but as opportunities to serve humanity and promote the welfare of all. May God bless our nation with leaders who are just, servants who are conscientious, and a society where good governance and the common good prevail.
