Institutions & Organizations
The Catholic Diocese of Orlu carries out the mission of Christ through a wide network of institutions, organizations, and apostolic groups. These serve the spiritual, educational, pastoral, charitable, social, and cultural life of the Diocese. As Pope St. Paul VI teaches in Evangelii Nuntiandi, the Church “exists in order to evangelize” (Evangelii Nuntiandi, no. 14). The institutions and organizations of the Diocese are therefore not merely administrative structures; they are instruments of evangelization, formation, service, and communion.
Through its schools, seminaries, health institutions, media platforms, pastoral centers, charitable services, pious associations, and lay organizations, the Diocese continues to form minds, nurture vocations, care for the vulnerable, promote Catholic life, and strengthen the participation of the lay faithful. The Second Vatican Council teaches that true education forms the whole person for the good of society (Gravissimum Educationis, no. 1), while the apostolate of the laity “derives from their Christian vocation” and is indispensable to the Church’s mission (Apostolicam Actuositatem, no. 1).
At present, the Diocese has about 150 Catholic nursery, primary, and secondary schools across its four Pastoral Regions; three diocesan seminaries; 46 approved pious associations; and numerous lay organizations, societies, media institutions, pastoral centers, and charitable initiatives. Together, these institutions and organizations witness to the Gospel by serving God’s people in faith, education, charity, worship, formation, and community life.
